Long ago, back in a rainy May 2002 I got a glimpse of the secrets on offer at the Alfa Romeo Museum when I was working for a company that paid me to visit the Alfa Romeo plant based there at that time. I took a few tantalising pics of the cars I could see then which precede the latest views in our gallery below. An interesting side note is that the Alfa Romeo SZ with a UK registration plate that I saw visiting the factory back in 2002 I saw again in 2022 at the Alfa Romeo gathering in Bicester!

At that time the huge factory with the massive Alfa Romeo sign on its roof was mostly building the not so gorgeous Fiat Multipla in the huge plant next door. Now returning in 2024 we find that plant has been completely razed to the ground, no sign of it at all. The offices where I was based are still present, but I can’t sneak inside to see if the in-your-face green colour scheme was still present where I was working at the time, to be honest I really loved that style for an office space.

The food was still good in the resturant, but a far cry from my time working there when they had a huge canteen for Alfa workers to enjoy the delights on offer. And no joke there were really good meals on offer for the employees back then.

So in 2024 we visited the museum as it is now, and it did not disappoint. All the iconic Alfa’s on show are worth the trip if you are ever in that part of the world. And the Alfa model named panini sandwiches are amusing but also very tasty!.
